I know what it feels like to own a home and realize no one really explained how any of this works.

I didn’t become passionate about homeowners insurance because I read a book about it.
I became passionate about it because my own home was almost financially devastated — twice.

First, a storm damaged our roof. Like most homeowners, we assumed insurance would “just take care of it.” What we didn’t know was that how your claim is presented matters. A licensed public adjuster stepped in, knew exactly how to interpret our policy, and helped us get our roof replaced at no cost.

Then a pipe leak caused major damage inside our home. Our kitchen, laundry room, living room, and powder room all had to be fully remodeled. Once again, having the right knowledge — and the right advocacy — meant the difference between paying out of pocket and having it handled correctly through insurance.

Those experiences changed everything for me.

I realized that most homeowners don’t actually understand their insurance until they’re in a crisis — and by then, it’s often too late to fix what was missed.

That’s why I created The Confident Homeowner an educational and advocacy collective.

My mission is simple:
To help homeowners — especially first-time and new homeowners — understand their insurance, avoid costly surprises, and protect their biggest investment with clarity and confidence.

I’m currently in the process of becoming a licensed Public Adjuster in Maryland, and I provide education, policy reviews, and workshops for homeowners across the country.
